The Game of Lice!
So on Mothers Day Karl walked into the bedroom as i was getting out of the shower to inform me that his kids have lice. He said he had gotten the call while i was in the shower and not to worry for he already checked Kayleigh and Kier. I admit I freaked out. Immediately I was having him check my hair. Even though my girls were in the clear i was worried about me since I have been home the last few weekends that they were down. Your all good was what he said when he was finished looking through my hair. OK so now OCD starts jumping in and I want everything stripped and sanitized. Yes I admit there is no sign of me and my girls having it so we should be in the clear and have no worries. Umm no!
I think by the end of the day was when I finally lost it and my body went into overload. I short circuited. Over the next few days and found myself having a breakdown that led to me contracting. Tuesday morning i was @ urgent care and found myself at the end of the day being taken off work and placed on bed rest. Apparently I'm not super woman and I can't handle everything. Anyways different story different blog. Back to the lice problem.
So seeing that I was feeling good this morning and am not the type to lounge in bed i decide to get some cleaning done. Just a few simple things around the house. Well that was the original at least until i opened the dishwasher. I saw the brush that Karl's kids use sitting in there. I do remember telling him that their brush needed to be cleaned and sanitized and he told me he would take care of it. I remember suggesting the dishwasher since we have a sanitizing cycle on it. So there is was. I grabbed it out to notice that Karl had not gotten all the hair out of it. OK so i go to get rid of the rest when there they were. They all were just glistening out clear as day. Yeah I lost it again.
I'm not sure at what point but i realized that my house had been tossed about. I was on the phone with Karl when he told me to calm down. It was not that big of an issue. Sorry but for me when I saw the eggs whether dead or alive i knew at some point that the lice problem was not something small or something that had just happened. It down right pissed me off that this was brought into my home and now I'm left to panic and clean up the mess that the girls left behind. They still have clothes laying around on their beds and floor along with their towels. Not to mention that they have been playing dress up with Kayleigh's play clothes. Also I have noticed that even though they have their own personal brush and hygiene products they still use everyone else's belongings.
Yeah I'm in a panic mode! I rechecked Kier and Kayleigh's head just to make sure. Clear! So now I'm just finishing up on the whole sanitizing my house process. After this I'm out to take care of my truck. I'm sorry but I know first hand how lice is a pain. Its hell to get rid of and a problem i don't want to have.

Step away from the cleaning products. Go buy that lice spray and calm down. Maybe, it's time you realize that some things are just out of your control. I know it's hrad I have been there, I have what I call Obssesvive Control Disorder! :) God with God and live in Peace

I was told once that washing with vinegar would help, as well as take the bedding put it in a big plastic trash bag and leave it in the sun for a few hours. I understand your panic considering the length of your daughters hair, when cera was small I would treat her hair every school year just as protection for the first part of the year.
