The Game of Lice!

So on Mothers Day Karl walked into the bedroom as i was getting out of the shower to inform me that his kids have lice. He said he had gotten the call while i was in the shower and not to worry for he already checked Kayleigh and Kier. I admit I freaked out. Immediately I was having him check my hair. Even though my girls were in the clear i was worried about me since I have been home the last few weekends that they were down. Your all good was what he said when he was finished looking through my hair. OK so now OCD starts jumping in and I want everything stripped and sanitized. Yes I admit there is no sign of me and my girls having it so we should be in the clear and have no worries. Umm no!
I think by the end of the day was when I finally lost it and my body went into overload. I short circuited. Over the next few days and found myself having a breakdown that led to me contracting. Tuesday morning i was @ urgent care and found myself at the end of the day being taken off work and placed on bed rest. Apparently I'm not super woman and I can't handle everything. Anyways different story different blog. Back to the lice problem.
So seeing that I was feeling good this morning and am not the type to lounge in bed i decide to get some cleaning done. Just a few simple things around the house. Well that was the original at least until i opened the dishwasher. I saw the brush that Karl's kids use sitting in there. I do remember telling him that their brush needed to be cleaned and sanitized and he told me he would take care of it. I remember suggesting the dishwasher since we have a sanitizing cycle on it. So there is was. I grabbed it out to notice that Karl had not gotten all the hair out of it. OK so i go to get rid of the rest when there they were. They all were just glistening out clear as day. Yeah I lost it again.
I'm not sure at what point but i realized that my house had been tossed about. I was on the phone with Karl when he told me to calm down. It was not that big of an issue. Sorry but for me when I saw the eggs whether dead or alive i knew at some point that the lice problem was not something small or something that had just happened. It down right pissed me off that this was brought into my home and now I'm left to panic and clean up the mess that the girls left behind. They still have clothes laying around on their beds and floor along with their towels. Not to mention that they have been playing dress up with Kayleigh's play clothes. Also I have noticed that even though they have their own personal brush and hygiene products they still use everyone else's belongings.
Yeah I'm in a panic mode! I rechecked Kier and Kayleigh's head just to make sure. Clear! So now I'm just finishing up on the whole sanitizing my house process. After this I'm out to take care of my truck. I'm sorry but I know first hand how lice is a pain. Its hell to get rid of and a problem i don't want to have.

My Mothers Day

It started off with Karl and the girls making me breakfast. Waffles, Eggs and Bacon. YUM!! The day proceeded with flowers and more cards. The family also gave me the day off. It was a bit hard though seeing that we were having a Mothers day BBQ. My parents and brother came over along with my Grandmother Pam. Everyone had a good time. It was overall a relaxing day.
The only stress I had that day was when Karl dropped a bit of a bomb on me. I'll hit that up in my next blog.

Early Mothers Day

I came home from work last night to a surprise. It was an early start to Mothers Day. While at work, Kiersten and Kayleigh decorated the kitchen. There was a vase full of fresh roses cut from the rose bush's in the front yard. Petals and other greenery placed for decor. Homemade brownies they made that day. Also cards and gifts that were made at school all placed so beautifully on the table. My girls even took it upon themselves to do the little bit of cleaning that was left over from that morning.
Later that night Kier went to stay the night at her friends. Karl went to the movies with my brother and Kayleigh and I stayed home and relaxed.
I'm being told there is more to come this weekend. I'll keep you all posted.

Karl & Kayleigh

Its amazing how these two have grown so close.
In the beginning Kayleigh was not to happy with
Karl moving in and occupying the space that had
become mine and the girls.
Over time she has come to trust and depend on
him. She cuddles up to him at night and hugs
him everyday when he get home from work and says that she loves him. He every now and then gets the I love you and a hug in the morning to.
When we are out at times you can see the bond they have. Its strong enough that people mistake the 2 as being actual father and daughter. Although Kayleigh has her real father in her life and their relationship is good, it makes my happy and proud that I love and share my life with a man that loves and cares for my children as if they were his own. Both Kayleigh and Kier are blessed to have 2 fathers.
